Installation and maintenance of emission and control systems
Installation Service
At Filtersolutions we offer solutions for the reduction of polluting gases, through the installation of customised emission control systems for almost any vehicle. Filtersolutions retrofit solutions involve the installation of diesel particulate filters and other elements such as oxidation catalysts and selective catalytic reduction, always designed according to the technical requirements of the end user's vehicles or machines. It is of vital importance that the correct system is applied for each vehicle, as incorrect application will lead to malfunctioning.
The installation service is included in the project planning. The customer should be aware that most of our systems come with a self-installation kit, but this requires the knowledge, skills and tools of a garage, which is why Filtersolutions also offers an installation service. If the user finally decides to install the emission control system by his own means, he should know that any problem with the system caused by a bad installation will be cause for cancellation of the product warranty.
On the other hand, some of the systems that we offer present a higher degree of difficulty, being necessary and obligatory the installation by our specialised technicians. In this case we are talking about the systems that involve dosing (PURINOx systems, DAS-DBS), where the parameterisation, adaptation and calibration of the control unit to the type of motor is necessary for a good start-up of the whole system.
Maintenance Service
Most of our emission control systems are continuously self-regenerating diesel particulate filter devices. Passive regeneration starts automatically at exhaust gas temperatures of approximately 250° and ensures safe operation of both the particulate filter and the engine. In case the required exhaust gas temperature is not reached for a certain period of time, the fap filter will not be able to burn the collected soot effectively.
With this in mind, all our products are equipped with a PDL-DT Monitoring System, which continuously measures the back pressure and the exhaust gas temperature. It stores the values in real time in its memory, and informs the driver or operator about the status of the particulate filter with a visual and audio display. We also have a system with 3G-Card technology, which sends real-time data to a remote client.
During the development of the system, great importance was given to maximum operational safety and easy maintenance of the system, so the catalytic converter and particulate filter parts were designed as independent modules, where the interchangeability of their elements makes these systems a cost-effective method.
All our systems comply with the maintenance and self-diagnostic requirements of current European regulations for type approval.
Preventive maintenance
In order to guarantee the correct functioning and to extend the durability of the emission control system and all its components, Filtersolutions has a simple preventive maintenance plan that involves the following actions:
Visual inspection of the vehicle for wear and tear of safety and securing components
Annual check and maintenance of the control panel system and its correct functioning.
Cleaning of the diesel particulate filter module, according to the diaphragm in Figure 1.
Typical DPF operating time to required cleanliness, if the minimum exhaust temperature criteria, and the maximum exhaust opacity criteria are met.
